Service to the scientific community and the society
As a female scientist, I believe that engaging in outreach activities is crucial to inspire and mentor the next generation of women in STEM, combat gender stereotypes, and promote diversity in the field.
[April 2026] Main organiser and chair of the Early Career Activities of the NEXT-AI workshop (8-10 April 2026). The activities involved the cooperation of 4 different Optica Student Chapters and it was awarded with an Optica Global Meeting Grant. Among the acitivities chosen among the students, there were the organisation of a poster session with poster prizes, an informal casual evening (pub quiz) attended by over 30 people, flash talk sessions and a career development panel discussion attended by Prof. Andrea di Falco, Prof. Natalia Berloff, Dr Francesca Parmigiani and Dr Alessandro Pierro.

[2024 - to date] I am taking part in the Lindau Alumni Network as a 2024 Lindau alumna. Since 1951, the network is built to bring together scientists from all around the world to exchange ideas on how to tackle global challenges.

[2026 - to date] Main organiser of the "Landau seminars", fostering a rich scientific environment benefiting university staff and PhD students.

2024 - Topical chair of the "Novel and super-resolution microscopy I and II" sessions at Photon 2024, Swansea Arena, Swansea, UK.
[2018 – 2022] President and co-founder of the University of Sussex Optica student chapter (formerly OSA). I organised outreach events for postgraduate and undergraduate students and staff, e.g. "quantum talks", "women in STEM talks", and laboratory tours for students and for the public.
